Obituary for Gretchen Trostle
Gretchen Trostle, 68, of Fairfield, PA, and formerly of Waynesboro, departed this life on Friday evening, January 20, in the Chambersburg Hospital after some years of declining health.

Born January 5, 1949 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of Shirley (Keckler) Trostle of Waynesboro, PA and the late Charles (Pete) Trostle.

Gretchen graduated from Waynesboro Area High School in 1966 and from Penn State in 1969. She taught in high schools in the Boston area for several years, then became a teacher of Transcendental Meditation and returned to this area where she taught TM in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

In later years, she worked in Washington, D.C. and in several states in the Northeast before finally returning to this area and locating in the Gettysburg area. She served for several years as the elected representative for Adams County to the State Democratic Committee.

She maintained an interest in writing, reading and the Arts for her entire life.

In addition to her mother she is survived by a brother, Chris Trostle and his wife
Sharon and nephew Noah of Elizabethtown, PA.

She was predeceased in death by her brother Clayton in 1972 and her sister Victoria in 2012.
