Obituary for Janice Decker
Janice Decker, 94, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Gettysburg, where she was a resident for 19 years.
She was born November 6, 1926 in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of the late Wilbur and Samantha Brocious Geiselman. Her husband, Stanley Decker died in 1972.
Janice graduated from Gettysburg Area High School in the class of 1945. She was employed for 28 years at the Recorder of Deeds Office at the Adams County Courthouse until her retirement.
Janice made many friends over the years, including many of the staff, both past and present, at SpiriTrust Lutheran. She enjoyed playing bingo and making scrapbooks, was an avid reader, and loved crossword puzzles. Janice liked to play cards and dominoes with her friends. She loved to go shopping and dining out.
But most of all, Janice loved her family with all her heart and enjoyed spending time with them.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Linda Guerrieri, and her husband David of Gettysburg, PA; a granddaughter, Angela Miller Day, and her husband Greg, of Dillsburg; a great-grandson, Dustin Hankey, of Gettysburg; and a great-great- grandson, Adrian Hankey of Gettysburg, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, James Geiselman, a son, Steven Decker, and a grandson, Jeffrey Miller.
Janice’s family would like to thank the staff and nurses at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Gettysburg for their wonderful care and professionalism during her time at the facility.
