Obituary for Janet Mae Mickley
Janet Mae Mickley, 91, formerly of Orrtanna, PA died Tuesday morning, November 28, 2017 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, PA.
Born March 16, 1926 in Cashtown, PA she was the daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Pisle) Sharrah, Sr. She was the wife of the late Curvin O. Mickley who died January 8, 1996.
Janet was a member of Flohr’s Lutheran Church, McKnightstown, PA. She worked as a teller for 35 years at the former Gettysburg National Bank, then at the former Arendtsville bank (now ACNB) in Arendtsville, and after the bank merger at ACNB Bank in Cashtown
She is survived by her three children, Wayne Mickley and his wife Diane, of Orrtanna, PA, Dennis Mickley and his wife Joann, of Orrtanna, PA, Lyn Huff and her husband Larry, of Leesburg, VA, four grandchildren, Meagan Weaver, Mark Mickley, Allison Johnston, Clint Mickley, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Sharrah, Jr.
A memorial service for Janet will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Flohr’s Lutheran Church, 595 Flohr’s Church Rd., McKnightstown, PA with Rev. Martin Young and Rev. Douglas Boden officiating. Private burial will be in the Flohr’s Cemetery. The Monahan Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
