
Obituary for Kevin A. Neely
Kevin A. Neely, age 60, of Gettysburg, PA passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
Born November 6, 1957 in Gettysburg, he was the son of Carolyn “Ki” (Blocher) Neely of Fairfield, PA and the late Robert U. Neely.
Kevin was a graduate of Fairfield High School and had worked for the D. L. Martin Co. in East Berlin, PA for the past five years, prior to that he had been employed by Schindler Elevator Co. in Gettysburg for over twenty years. After his father’s death, Kevin took over managing the family’s farm in Fairfield. He was a member of the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church in Gettysburg. Kevin was a skilled hunter, and along with his brother Bob had hunted in eight states and two Canadian Provinces through the years. He also loved to spend time at his cabin in Honesdale, PA.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Lauren A. (LaRocca) Neely, step-son, Sergei Ismailoff and fiancé Marisa Tyler of Gettysburg, two sisters; Elizabeth “Betsy” Gibney and husband Randy of Mechanicsburg, PA and Margaret Metz and husband David of Fairfield, a brother, Robert H. “Bob” Neely and wife Janet of Oklahoma and his special nieces and nephews; Sarah Neely, Sandy Gibney, Samantha Neely, Stephanie Gibney, Kaylee Metz, David Metz and Aimee Metz. He was predeceased by his brother Bruce Neely.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church, 1865 Knoxlyn Road, Gettysburg, PA with Revs. Mark Englund-Krieger, Dale Williams and Kim Blocher, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and following the service at a reception in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be private.
The family suggests memorials to the Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society, 924 North Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403.
