Obituary for James "Jim" Glenny
James D. “Jim” Glenny, 76 of Gettysburg, PA died peacefully at his home in Gettysburg on Friday, July 20, 2018 with his family by his side.
Born February 1, 1942 in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late David & Dorothy (Emery) Glenny. Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne E. (Stahlmann) Glenny.
Jim was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving as an electrical engineer. He had been employed by the former Westinghouse Elevator Corp. and later the Schindler Elevator Co. from 1963 until his retirement in 2003. Jim was a member of the Gettysburg American Legion Post #202, he enjoyed cooking and golfing and loved to take cruises with his beloved wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James D. Glenny and wife Gwen of East Berlin, PA, his daughter, Robin J. Cohen of Sterling, VA, his grandson, Zachary Glenny and his brother, David Glenny of Morganville, New Jersey.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 22, at the funeral home from 3:00-5:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Johns Hopkins Hospital, MDS Cancer Research, 1800 Orleans Street, Baltimore, MD 21287
