Obituary for E. Myrtle Bowling
E. Myrtle Bowling, 87, 590 Blacksmith Shop Road, Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1931 in Cashtown, PA the daughter of the late Roy L. and Louisa Frederick Andrew. Her husband, William M. “Bill” Bowling, Sr. died in 2016.
Mrs. Bowling was a member of Cashtown United Church of Christ. For many years she was employed at the Carroll Shoe Company in Littlestown, PA. She was very active in the Gettysburg Fire Company. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Myrtle is survived by five children; William M. Bowling, Jr. and his wife Penny of Gardners, PA, Kathy J. Scott of Waynesboro, PA, Jeffrey A. Bowling and his wife Tina of Biglerville, PA, Brenda K. Bowling of Gettysburg, PA, Craig A. Bowling of East Berlin, PA, eight grandchildren; Heather Haley, Aimee Scott, Andy Bowling, Cody Bowling, Scott Bowling, Roxan Reed, Kaytlyn Bowling, Jynapher Bowling, two great grandchildren; Aiden Haley, and Emma Haley. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by a sister, Hazel Dillman, two brothers; Frederick Andrew, Kenneth Andrew.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. Interment will be in Bender’s Church Cemetery.
There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Gettysburg Fire Company, 35 North Stratton Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
