Obituary for John R. Gormley
John R. Gormley, 92 of Naples, FL passed away on May 06, 2019 at his home after a long illness.
Born January 1, 1927 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Richard & Oneida (Biesecker) Gormley.
John was a graduate of Gettysburg High School and later earned a degree from Gettysburg College. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp in the South Pacific.
John is survived by his wife, Joan (Knox) Gormley, two daughters; Susan Saturday of Amelia Island, FL and June Goodrich of Langhorne, PA, a son P. Samuel Gormley of Luzerne, PA, two grandsons, Danny Saturday and Eli Goodrich and two brothers; Fred Gormley of Winfield, PA and Tom Gormley of Gettysburg, PA. He was predeceased by a brother, William Gormley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA followed by a graveside service with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans at the Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg.
