Obituary for Janice Armstrong
Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, and Friend, Janice Armstrong (Brantley) departed from this life on February 13, 2016, after a long, victorious bout with Lupus and Colon Cancer. Born in Adel, Georgia on June 28, 1960, Janice grew up in a loving home with doting parents Deacon Joe Lewis and the Late Elizabeth Tuff (nee Gamble) along with nine siblings. Spending her childhood in both Florida and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from Gettysburg Senior High School, Janice was known throughout life for her creative ability. A voracious reader, Janice was a long-time employee of Bookspan of Hanover, and will be remembered for her quick wit, sharp mind, and expansive knowledge of multiple subjects.
Janice is survived by her three children, Joanne “Juju” Bushell (Sticks) of the home, Michael Armstrong (Shannon) of Gettysburg, and Julia Elizabeth Armstrong of New Oxford, Pennsylvania and their Father, Oswald “Ozzie” Armstrong, five grandchildren, Brianna, Chanel, Lillian, Jada, and Demetrius, her father Joe Tuff (Betty) of Gettysburg, two brothers, seven sisters, four great-grandchildren, and a whole host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Janice was loved by all for her frank, no-nonsense approach, genuine personality, hearty laugh and will be remembered forever for her uncanny knack for arts and crafts and love of crossword puzzles. She made her final transition surrounded by her children and loved ones.
