Obituary for Louise M. Orndorff
Louise M. Orndorff, 89, of Bonneauville, PA went to see God and the family and friends that she had been missing, Monday evening, February 22, 2016 at the Gettysburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 2, 1926 in Bonneauville she was the daughter of the late T. Ambrose and Bertha (Walchter) Myers. She was the wife of the late Vincent T. Orndorff who died in 1985.
Mrs. Orndorff was a member of St. Joesph the Worker Catholic Church in Bonneauville. She was a lifelong resident of Bonneauville, Adams County and worked for the Windsor Shoe Factory and Sylvania Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Home Association, the Gettysburg Harvest Club, and the Recycled Teenagers, whom she enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, cards and dominos. Louise’s family and friends were what her entire life revolved around, they were her number one priority.
Louise is survived by her eight children, Raymond T. Orndorff, of Bonneauville, Karl B. Orndorff and his wife Julie, of Bonneauville, Christine F. Gallagher and her husband James, of Gettysburg, Byron J. Orndorff and his wife Lisa, of Bonneauville, Edwin C. Orndorff and his wife Wanda, of New Oxford, Roy A. Orndorff and his wife Wanda, of New Oxford, Benita M. Lehto and her husband Roy of Bonneauville, Judy A. Reed and her husband Dale, of York Springs, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one sister, Paula Myers, of Owings Mills, MD, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Cory Orndorff, two sisters, Angela Hoffnagle and Patricia Shanebrook, her brother, Howard Myers and her daughter-in-law, Connie Orndorff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 E. Hanover St., Bonneauville, PA with Fr. Peter DiTomasso Celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday evening, February 25, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Louise’s name to the charity of your choice.
